I know I am a little late with the reviews for the March box, which I do sincerely apologize for. As I mentioned in my previous post, I was in Korea at the moment. So, without further ado, let me guide you guys through the unboxing of March's box + providing my first impressions and reviews!

The Glass Tinting Lips-Talk, also known as Etude’s new line of lippies was the one I was anticipating so much because Etude House created 20 colors and 20 different cases just for us to mix and match! Say what? Yes, 20! The fact that it is customize-able makes everything personal and I like the concept behind it. Etude House sent over three colors, which are the following: #PK003 Romantic Frill Pink, #RD302 Swag Red (both Krystal’s pick!) and #BR402 Bohemian Rosy Brown.

First of all, the color #PK003 and #RD302 are quite similar in terms of colors. #PK003 looks and feels like the typical Barbie pink that has a pop of neon to it. The only difference (to me) between the colors is that RD302 slightly contains more red pigments. All colors are spring appropriate but personally the moment I saw #BR402 on the lipstick bullet, I thought it was too dark to wear on brighter days. After testing it out on my lips I was so shocked and impressed at this unique color. I don’t know how they did it but it contains pigments of brown and a tinge of orangey coral, which resulted in a perfect toned down brown-ish kind of lipstick, that I swear I could never pull off until I met this color! Does the color come close to the one at the promotional picture? I would definitely say yes.

These lippies are sheer in formula, but the layers are buildable without having feeling heavy on the lips. What I love about the texture is that the smooth and buttery texture really lives up to the name “Glass Tint”. It applies like a dream and provides a glossy feel on the lips.

When applied on the lips, I could feel the benefit of the “balm-like” texture come into play. Even during a cold day, it still keeps my lips as smooth as it possibly can. Now, while I am fairly positive on the product, I wish the lasting power would survive one drink. Other than that, I would recommend this product if you are not annoyed by reapplying after each drink/meal.

Etude House specially created a collection that caters towards all the sensitive skin types, which I am personally really excited about because my skin falls under this category. The collection of this skincare line is named SoonJung, which I believe is translated as "Pure" in English. A fitting name for this collection, or is it?

Before I start with the reviews on this collection, I would like to mention that this will only contain my first impressions. All of the products in the SoonJung line are free from 10 toxic ingredients, such as: animal derived ingredients, mineral oil, pigments, synthetic perfume, polyacrylamide, silicon, imidazolidinyl urea, triethanolamine, PEG surgactant and paraben.

Etude House SoonJung PH 5.5 Relief Toner is a hypoallergenic toner that contains pH 5.5 (as the name suggests) and it is created to protect and heal the skin from external factors that damages our skin while providing a moisturizing barrier. I know that in the April Box I actually talked about the Honey Cera toner being similar to the texture of the Son&aPark Beauty Water. However, I think the Soon Jung toner comes closer as comparison instead since both look like water and it feels like splashing water on my face! The formula also absorbs quickly into the skin--within a minute or two to be more exact, while the pH level helps prepping the skin to absorb the next skincare products easier and faster.

The Etude House SoonJung 10 Free Moist Emulsion contains a soothing gel-like texture that is lightweight and non-greasy. The 10 in the name is derived from the main key points of this collection, namely it is free of 10 toxic ingredients. The emulsion goes on smoothly and keeps my skin properly hydrated, surprisingly even if I wait for an hour to apply the cream for the next step.

Moving on, the Etude House SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream is supposedly to strengthen the protective barrier around the (sensitive) skin.  This cream melts into a thin and light texture when evenly spread, but it leaves a sticky feeling. Thankfully, it doesn’t stay long and disappears once the cream is finely absorbed into the skin. Therefore, I feel that it makes a great spring/summer moisturizer to provide enough hydration for the lighter days.

For the last skincare step, Etude House SoonJung 5-Panthensoside Cica Balm is the type of cream that is specially designed to calm and soothe areas on the irritated skin. Similar to the emulsion and cream, it is a gel-type of balm but feels a little bit thicker than the previous two. While testing this out, I didn’t feel like it did anything special other than leaving me with a more hydrated skin. NOTE: I have to add that my skin wasn't irritated or stressed these days (thankfully) so I couldn't test its full potential.

In addition to all the products, I was happy to find three of Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Masks in the box. I view mask sheets similar to icing on a cake, an essential product that does not only contribute to a well-deserved homely type of spa, but also boosts the skin greatly. Etude House claims that these masks are 0.2mm and can be used every night on the skin. Each and every mask is divided into three types of essences: The Moist Water Type Essence, The Ampoule Type Essence, and the Emulsion Type Essence.

The mask sheets that I received are: Strawberry, Aloe and Pearl. These mask sheets are thinner than the usual, but it was a bit tricky to unwrap it out of the packaging since it is loaded and soaked with the essences. They are scented, but not overwhelming to notice once it is applied on the skin.

For me, all three masks bear similarities in the benefits they deliver, in particular the Strawberry and Pearl masks which are focused on brightening and whitening the dull complexion. The potent ingredients do deliver instant result on the skin, which I was surprised since I didn’t have any expectations. The Aloe mask is highly moisturizing on the skin, but I can’t say for sure that it is soothing since I didn’t have any skin issues prior to applying this mask. All in all, I can understand why Etude House would advice consumers to apply these masks once a day. They are hassle-free, feels light on the skin and they do their job well.

And now we've come to the end of the post. My overall impression of this month's box is that it was everything I could have wished for in a box. I'm a sucker for lip products, sheet masks and the new skincare line that works perfectly on my skin without any irritation. My skin is happy! Do you see any products that you like, tried, or want to test out?

UNBOXING & REVIEWS: Etude House Pink Bird Box March 2017

I'm a sucker for lip products, sheet masks and the new skincare line that works perfectly on my skin without any irritation. My skin is happy! Do you see any products that you like, tried, or want to test out?

Hey guys! I’m finally back after my trip from Korea so here are the reviews on the Etude House Pink Bird Box (April version).

The first product is the Etude House Fix&Fix Tone Up Primer Rose SPF33+ PA++ This primer is meant to brighten the complexion before setting it in with the bb cream that comes as a set. The primer comes with a slim and long tube packaging, which is a huge plus for me because first of all, it’s hygienic and second of all, I can decide on the amount of the product I want to squeeze out. So, this is how it looks like after I squeezed out a tiny amount. As you can see, it’s peachy pink colored and it has a watery texture and feel to it.

When the product is all blended out, it brightens my skin tone while providing a rosy touch to it. I tested it out for a day and the primer it did help settle my makeup with a flawless finish, all except the troublesome red areas, which is near my nose. I am unsure if it helped applying my makeup easier because I usually skip the primer part for my daily makeup routine.

With that said, I came into conclusion that Etude House primers could work fairly well as cc cream itself. If you do not suffer from a lot of blemishes, this primer will help brightening up your complexion and you’ll be good to go with an additional concealer.

The second product is the Etude House Any Cushion All Day Perfect SPF50+ PA++ . I think this is probably one of my most favorite products from this box. This Etude House BB Cushion comes in an easily portable compact that includes a mirror and a sturdier, thicker puff (called Any Fitting Puff) than the delicate puffs that I was used to. What Iike about this puff is that it helps applying the product smoothly.

I received this in the color Vanilla #19 (Pink Base) and when I first swatched it on my hands I didn’t think that the color matched me at all because it contains pink undertones and the color seemed a bit lighter than my original skin tone. However, after applying it on my face and wearing it during the day, the color seemed to even out and blended into my skin tone while providing a dewy glow. In addition, the product helps concealing the aftermath of the recent pimples that popped up while I was in Korea and it slightly helped with concealing the under eye circles. I had to use a concealer afterwards, but that didn’t matter much to me. Etude House also claims that it helps concealing the redness and I have to agree that it does a great job in that.

Regarding the formula, I would say that the formula provides medium coverage, but there’s always the option to layer for more buildable coverage when it’s needed. In terms of hydration, the BB cream does a great job in maintaining moisture on the surface of the skin even when the weather is still cold in Netherlands. Whether the product would last 24 hours on the skin like Etude House say, I can’t say. But what I can say is that it is long lasting and it will definitely get you through the day. All in all, I would earnestly like to recommend this product.

Next products I would like to shed light on are the Etude House Super Slim Proof Pencil Liner #01 Black & Etude House Super Slim Proof Brush Liner #02 Brown. Both products are packaged in a sleek design that contains the colors of the product and are marketed as waterproof.

Let’s start with the Etude House Super Slim Proof Pencil Liner #01 Black first. The pencil liner is a super thin 1.5mm pencil type it has a soft and creamy formula. I used this to tightline my waterline and I noticed that the pigmentation wasn’t intense, but luckily the color was buildable. The color also reminded me more of a dark grey than jet-black at first sight. As for the lasting power and its performance, I would say that it didn’t live up to my expectations at all. It is supposedly to be waterproof, but it ended up smudging and as end result I was looking like a panda for the day.

As for the Etude House Super Slim Proof Brush Liner #02 Brown, the color is exactly the same as the name. The brush is easy to handle when creating the cat eyes look, but the consistency of the strokes are poor. I tried to layer 2-3 strokes, hoping for an opaque coverage but the colors still ended up inconsistent. Regarding the lasting power, it stayed on a decent amount of time, for about 6 hours but it didn’t survive the rubbing. The good side of this product is that it dries quickly and it does glides smoothly across the eyelids. With that said, I like the idea of having a thin brush (eye)line but I highly doubt that I will be reaching out for this on a daily basis since it didn’t fit the standard that I have on beauty products.

Last but not least is the Etude House Honey Cera (skincare) collection that focuses on two aspects: moisturizing and firming. I received the test trial of the collection and it consists out of 4 different skincare steps. The box contains the Honey Cera toner, Honey Cera Emulsion, Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum and the Honey Cera cream. (All products are scented.)

I wasn’t able to test these products for long, so I will give a general first impression reviews on all four products. The Honey Cera Toner is very lightweight and in all honesty,  the texture reminds me of water. In particular, it reminds me of Son & Park Beauty Water’s texture. I love how easy it is to apply the product onto my skin and how my skin is able to absorb it within a couple of minutes before venturing into the next skincare step.

The Honey Cera Emulsion contains a thicker texture in comparison with the toner, but oddly enough it is not sticky. It went on smoothly on my skin, but it did take a bit of time for the product to sink in. From what I experienced, the product does provide hydrating effects as previously claimed by Etude House.

The Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum is a surprising product out of the bunch. With its gel-like texture, the concentrated eye serum helps providing moisture for the under eye and at the same time I felt like it nourishes the area as well. In a way, I would say that it was as if the eye serum tightened the targeted area upon application.

The Honey Cera Cream is thick and very creamy, and it is more suitable as a night cream rather than for the day time, unless the weather is still very cold wherever you are at. It takes a few minutes to really absorb all the nutrients but it gets a pass from me because it melts easily into the skin and it doesn’t leave any greasiness or stickiness behind. True to its claims, this cream is excellent in keeping the skin hydrated until the morning and I noticed the difference it made on my skin during this windy and cold day: mainly, my skin skin feels softer, refreshed and firmer.

So, there we have it! Full reviews on the Etude House Pink Bird Box (April version). There were some disappointments, but also a lot of products that made a lasting impression on me. Thank you for reading and see you guys next time!
